The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) regulates the profession of social work in Texas. The agency investigates complaints, sometimes informally by the staff. In other cases, the Texas Department of State Health Services investigates. If you are the subject of a complaint, you will be notified by the board and given an opportunity to respond. The Commission then investigates the complaint. Upon completion, a report is given to the Ethics Committee, which determined whether a violation has been proven. The outcome may be a letter of reprimand or the denial, suspension, probation or revocation of your license.
You have a right to bring your case before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). At such a hearing, you can present evidence, call witnesses and cross-examine witnesses.
Our professional license defense attorneys are familiar with handling such professional complaints. We know how to gather evidence and build a strong case. We take our job as seriously as you take yours. We work hard to for licensed professionals.
